Mary Louise "Meryl" Streep, an American actress, was born in 1949 in New Jersey to Mary Wolf (commercial artist) and Harry William Streep (pharmaceutical executive). Meryl's early performing goals were more focused on opera. As a Vassar student who developed an interest in performing, she went on to enroll at the Yale School of Drama after graduating.

Careers:

In 1976: The "27 Wagons Full of Cotton" featured her.

In 1977: In the movie Julia, opposite Jane Fonda, Streep played her first major motion picture role.

In 1978: Holocaust, in which Streep starred as the German woman, brought her great acclaim. She appeared in the war movie The Deer Hunter that same year.

In 1979: As a result of her work in “Kramer vs. Kramer”, she went on to win the Academy Award.

In 1983, In “Silkwood”, Streep portrayed her first real-life role.

In 1984: Next, Streep starred alongside Robert De Niro in the love story “Falling in Love”.

In 1986: She appeared in the drama “Heartburn” alongside Jack Nicholson.
