Raquel Welch was born on September 5, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Armando Carlos Tejada Urquizo and his wife Sarah Mae (née Welch). She has two older sisters, Nelda Sue and Peggy Ann. Welch's father was a Peruvian engineer of Basque descent, while her mother was of English descent. As a result of her father's work, Welch family moved often during her childhood, living in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil before settling in California by the time she was eleven. Raquel Welch has died at the age of 82, 15th Feb 2023.

Raquel Welch career begin: 1963-1966: Welch initially intended to move to New York City from Dallas, but moved back to Los Angeles in 1963 and started applying for roles with film studios.

Second unit director Peter Medak said Welch "was at that time quite inexperienced, exactly like one of those American drum majorettes.
