Anton LaVey was an American author and founder of the Church of Satan. He was born on April 11, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. LaVey gained notoriety for his controversial beliefs and practices, which challenged traditional religious and societal norms. His books, which continue to influence modern occultism and Satanism, include "The Satanic Bible" and "The Satanic Rituals." LaVey passed away on October 29, 1997, but his legacy remains a prominent figure in modern Satanism.
Anton LaVey Career:
The 1950s: Anton LaVey worked as a musician and circus performer, playing the organ and performing as a lion tamer and burlesque performer.
The 1960s: Anton LaVey founded the Church of Satan in San Francisco in 1966 and began gaining media attention for his beliefs and practices. He authored "The Satanic Bible" in 1969, quickly becoming a controversial bestseller.
