Muhammad Ali, also known as “The Greatest,” was not only a professional boxer from the United States but also an activist. People go back and forth on whether or not he’s the best heavyweight fighter of all time, but one thing everyone can agree on is that he’s definitely in the top 5. In 1999, he won Sportsman of the Century from Sports Illustrated and BBC respectively. He claimed his first heavyweight title on February 25th in 1964 against Sonny Liston when he was only 22 years old. That same year, he changed his name to Muhammad Ali and called his birth name a “slave name.” His religious beliefs and moral convictions made him decline induction into the military in 1966 because they didn’t believe in wars.

In 1960: In his first fight as a professional, Ali defeated Tunney Hunsaker by decision after six rounds.
