François-Henri Pinault was born on 28 May 1962. He is a French businessman. He is the CEO and chairman of Kering and the president of Groupe Artémis. Under his leadership, PPR was transformed into the luxury fashion group Kering. He was married to Dorothée Lepère between 1996 and 2004. Their children are François, born in 1998, and Mathilde, born in 2001. A relationship with supermodel Linda Evangelista lasted from September 2005 until January 2006. The couple had a son together, Augustin James Evangelista (b. October 2006).
François-Henri Pinault Career:
1988: François-Henri Pinault was promoted to the position of manager of the buying department at PPR (then called Pinault Distribution), to the position of head manager of France Bois Industries in 1989, and then to the position of head manager of Pinault Distribution in 1990.
The 1990s: François-Henri Pinault Distribution became PPR, one of the largest international retail companies, and in 1997 became CEO of Fnac and president of CFAO.
2003: François-Henri Pinault became the vice president and president of Groupe Artémis, the parent company of PPR.
2005: François-Henri Pinault became the President and CEO of PPR and led the transformation into an international luxury fashion group.
2009: François-Henri Pinault financed Yann Arthus-Bertrand's documentary Home about how humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet, which shows aerial shots of different places on Earth.
2018: A Corporate Knights Global 100 index published in January 2018 ranked Kering as the largest textile, apparel, and luxury goods company in sustainability.

In 2016, François-Henri Pinault’s company was involved in another controversy when workers at a Gucci factory in Italy went on strike. Protests were taking place at the factory against proposed job cuts and changes to working conditions. It was criticized that Pinault did not do enough to address the workers' concerns in response to the strike.
Pinault has also been criticized for his personal life. His first wife was still alive when he had an affair with actress Salma Hayek in 2008. After divorcing his first wife, he married Hayek in 2009.
