Elaine Wynn, one of the top known businesswomen, was born in New York City on April 28, 1942. She came from a middle-class Jewish family. In 1964, Elaine Wynn graduated with a bachelor of arts in Political Science from George Washington University. In addition to being a billionaire businesswoman, she is a philanthropist and an art collector. With her former husband, Steve Wynn, she co-founded Mirage Resorts and Wynn Resorts. In addition to supporting education causes, she has also supported the performing and visual arts.

Career:

1976: Elaine Wynn, with her former husband, co-founded Mirage Resorts.

2000: Elaine Wynn and her husband founded Wynn Resorts in 2000.

2018: Using a proxy battle, Elaine Wynn successfully forced two Steve loyalists to resign in May 2018.

As a result of sexual misconduct allegations against her ex-husband, Steve Wynn stepped down as CEO in March 2018 and sold all his shares.

When Wynn and Steve moved to Las Vegas after Wynn married Steve during her third year of college, Wynn worked Sundays at his father's Maryland bingo hall.
