Robert Allen Iger is the chief executive officer (CEO) of The Walt Disney Company. He was born on February 10, 1951. Previously, he was president and COO of Capital Cities/ABC between 1995 and 1996 before Disney acquired the company. As CEO, Iger succeeded Michael Eisner in 2005. His contract expired in 2020. His last day as executive chairman was December 31, 2021. Disney's board of directors asked Iger to return as CEO on November 20, 2022, following Chapek's unscheduled and immediate dismissal.

• 1974: Bob Iger joined the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) in 1974. The first job he held was as a menial laborer on television sets for $150 a week (over $700 after inflation).

• 1988: Bob Iger served as senior program executive for the Calgary Winter Olympics in 1988. Iger's team used human interest stories such as those about the Jamaican bobsled team and Eddie the Eagle to fill the broadcast schedule during an event marred by disruptive weather and delayed events.

• 1989: Bob Iger led ABC Entertainment in 1989, greenlighting shows such as Twin Peaks, America's Funniest Home Videos, and Cop Rock.

• 1999: Bob Iger was appointed president of Walt Disney International, which oversees Disney's international operations, and chairman of the ABC Group on February 25, 1999, removing him from ABC's management. Disney promoted Iger as a result of the change.

• 2015: Bob Iger was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in May 2015. A Toy Industry Hall of Fame induction ceremony was recently held for Iger by the Toy Industry Association (TIA).
