Besides founding, chairing, and running Salesforce, Benioff also owns the magazine Time since 2018. David Benioff, the showrunner and TV writer behind Game of Thrones, is Benioff's second cousin. Benioff founded Liberty Software at 15 years old, creating and selling games for Atari 8-bits, such as Flapper.
While at USC, Benioff worked as a programmer at Apple.
Following graduation, he was recruited to work in customer service for Oracle Corporation.
As a sales, marketing, and product development executive at Oracle for 13 years, Benioff held a variety of roles.
His 23rd birthday marked his first year as Oracle's Rookie of the Year.
