Robert Kenneth Kraft American billionaire businessman who was born on June 5, 1941. His company, the Kraft Group, has assets in paper and packaging, entertainment and sports, real estate development, as well as a private equity portfolio. since 1994, The New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL) have been owned by him. The New England Revolution of Major League Soccer, which Kraft founded in 1996, and the esports-based Boston Uprising, which he founded in 2017, are also owned by Kraft.
Robert Kraft Career:
During the early part of Kraft's professional career, he worked for the Rand-Whitney Group, a Worcester-based packaging company run by his father-in-law.
1968: Using leveraged buyouts, he took control of the company.
1978: A trader of physical paper commodities, he founded International Forest Products.
1974: WTT (World Team Tennis) was founded by Kraft and five other investors.
1971: A fan of the Patriots since their AFL days and a season ticket holder when the team moved to Schaefer Stadium, Kraft has been a season ticket holder since 1971.
1988: The stadium was bought from Sullivan for $22 million out of bankruptcy court by Kraft.
1996: Founded by Kraft, the New England Revolution plays alongside the Patriots at Foxboro Stadium as a charter member of Major League Soccer.
2026: During the joint Canadian-Mexican-American FIFA World Cup bid, Kraft was named Honorary Chairman of the board of directors.
2019: New England Revolution owner Robert Kraft hired Bruce Arena as head coach and sporting director. After six years without a playoff win, the team won in 2020.
