Sundar Pichai, a well-known Indian-American business executive, and the CEO of Google Inc, was born in India. In 2004, he started working at Google. He initially contributed to a small team that worked on the Google search toolbar. Pichai, who had been in charge of Products and Engineering at Google, was appointed as the new CEO of the c Alphabet Inc., Google. Pichai thought Google should create its own browser after seeing the success of its toolbar. When he presented his concept to his superiors, then-CEO Eric Schmidt objected, saying that creating a browser would be an expensive endeavor. Chrome was a huge success because it gave people direct access to Google's search engine.
Pichai joined Google in 2004 as a product manager and supervised several of the company's breakthrough projects, including the highly successful Chrome OS and Google Chrome.
