Randy Alan George, a United States Army general, was born on November 1, 1964, in Illinois, United States. From August 5, 2022, he has served as vice chief of staff for the U.S. Army. In support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, he served the 101st Airborne Division as a lieutenant. In 1993, George completed the Armor Officer Advanced Course and was commissioned an armor officer. He served as assistant operations officer for the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, then commanded C Company, then Headquarters Company in the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment.

• Previously, he served as the US Secretary of Defense's senior military assistant.
• The United States Military Academy awarded George a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 after he grew up in Alden, Iowa.
• As an economics graduate from the Naval War College in 1999, Randy Alan George received a second master's degree in international security studies.
• The second battalion of the 503d Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, was headed to Italy in 2001 by Randy Alan George.
• As part of Operation Enduring Freedom, George returned to the 4th Infantry Division as commander of the 4th Brigade Combat Team.
