Joseph Abboudis a writer and male fashion designer from America. Before moving to Roslindale, the Abbouds lived in Boston's South End as a working-class Lebanese Catholic Maronite family.Joseph, Abboud's father, was a candy factory worker, and Lila, his mother, was a seamstress. Nancy Ash, his only sibling, died from breast cancer alongside Lila. Abboud received his degree from the University of Massachusetts-Boston in 1972 before enrolling in classes at the Sorbonne in Paris.
Career:
In 1981: He subsequently became menswear design associate director at Ralph Lauren.
In 1987: His own label was launched in the spring.
In 1991: Abboud collaborated with fashion director Peter Speliopoulos.
In 2010: Aboud was named chief creative officer of HMX, which owns Hart Schaffner Marx and Hickey Freeman.
In 2020: The Joseph Abboud brand's trademarks were purchased by WHP Global from Tailored Brands.
Achievements and Awards:
In 1989 & 1990: Abboud has garnered many accolades, and she holds the rare position of being the only designer to win the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year award twice in a row.
In 1994: Abboud found the The Neckwear Association of America Special Achievement Award to be very significant.
