Ritu Beri, an Indian fashion designer born in Delhi wanted to build originality and innovation in India’s luxury market. So she created The Luxury League, a non-profit organization. She’s a consultant for KVIC, part of a ministry that focuses on micro-small-medium enterprises for the Indian government. This isn’t her only consulting gig though as she also gives advice at Rishihood University where she helps with fashion. She founded RBFF (Ritu Beri Fashion Fraternity) to help younger designers launch their own brands too.

Career:

In 1998: Ritu made history by being the first Indian designer to stage a successful couture show in Paris.

In 2000: She became the head of pret-a-porter collections at Jean Louis Scherrer, a French fashion house.

In 2002: Ritu Beri joined Jean-Louis Scherrer's Ready to Wear department.

In 2004: Ritu Beri married the exporter, Bobby Chadha.

In 2016: During Beri's launch, she released two titles: The Designs of A Restless Mind and The Fire of A Restless Mind.

Achievements and Awards:

In 2014: the Spanish government awarded her the Order of Civil Merit.

In 2010: She is the recipient of the French government's Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres award.

In 2016: Ritu Beri was inducted into the Power Brands Hall of Fame.

Unknown Facts:

In December 1990, she launched her own label "Lavanya" as the first step towards a bright design future.

She and Madhuri Dixit published their first book together in March 2003, entitled "101 Ways to Look Your Best".
