Thomas Carlyle Ford is an American director and fashion designer. After working as the creative director at Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci before, he started his own luxury business in 2005. The movies A Single Man (2009) and Nocturnal Animals were written and directed by Ford (2016). He is now the Council of Fashion Designers of America's board chairman. He moved with his family to Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the age of 11. He enrolled in St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe before transferring to Santa Fe Preparatory School, where he eventually graduated in 1979.
