Samuel Colt, a well-known American inventor, was born in Connecticut. The first handgun, often known as the "Revolver," was created by Samuel Colt. It was a handgun that could be shot repeatedly without needing to reload. He established Colt's Manufacturing Company, paving the way for the first commercial mass production of revolvers.
Career:
He traveled to England in 1835, where he obtained his first patent. Upon his return to the United States, he was given a U.S. patent for the "Colt Paterson," a revolver with a folding trigger.
In 1836, he established a company to produce and market these weapons. The company was shut down in 1843 because it could not create enough revenue.
His luck changed when the Mexican-American War broke out in 1846 because Texas Rangers Captain Samuel Walker wanted to order 1000 revolvers from Colt.
Samuel Colt engaged renowned gun maker Eli Whitney Blake to produce the specified rifles using an enhanced new design.
These orders restored his financial situation, allowing him to start Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company, his factory.

The Silver Telford Medal was given to him as a token of appreciation by the membership.

In a magnificent wedding that included rifle salutes and fireworks in 1856, he married Elizabeth Jarvis. The couple has four kids together.
At the time of his death in 1862, he was one of the wealthiest men in America.
John Colt, his brother, committed suicide after being found guilty of murder.
