On February 5, 1959, Jennifer Granholm was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She graduated from Harvard Law School in 1987 with a Juris Doctor degree after earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984. After that, she worked as a clerk for US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Judge Damon Keith.
Jennifer Granholm Career:
• Granholm served as a clerk for Judge Damon Keith, a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, from 1987 to 1988 following his graduation from Harvard Law School.
• She was employed by Michael Dukakis's 1988 presidential campaign as well.
• Granholm began serving as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan in 1991, following his employment as a lawyer in the Wayne County executive office from 1989 to 1991.
• She sued the state, battled credit card fraud, and assisted in the prosecution of drug dealers, gang members, and child pornographers.
• She was the youngest person appointed to the position of Corporation Counsel for Wayne County in 1995.
Granholm battled to enforce environmental regulations, sued the state over road taxes, and represented the county in legal proceedings.
• From March to October 2011, Granholm was a member of the Dow Chemical Company's board of directors.
She will be joining Current TV's new political primetime schedule as host of The War Room with Jennifer Granholm, the network announced in October 2011.
• Granholm has breached certain STOCK Act rules since signing a comprehensive ethical agreement to take the top energy government position.
