Robert Shapiro, a well-known American attorney, was born in 1942, in New Jersey. Robert Shapiro is the creator of the legal defence company LegalZoom. He gained prominence as a part of the legal team known as the "Dream Team," which successfully defended O.J. Simpson during his 1995 murder trial.

He studied at UCLA, where in 1965 he received a bachelor's degree in finance. He then graduated from Loyola Law School in 1968 with a law degree.

Robert Shapiro Career

Shapiro served as a prosecutor in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office after graduating from law school. 

He quit the district attorney's office and started practising criminal defence law in 1972. He developed a reputation as one of the nation's top criminal defence attorneys over time.

When Shapiro joined the defence team for O.J. Simpson, who was charged with killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, in 1995, he attracted widespread notice. 

Shapiro was crucial to the defense's strategy during the trial, which ultimately resulted in Simpson's acquittal.
