Peter Brian Gabriel was born on 13th February 1950 and is an English musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and activist. His best-known role was as the lead singer of Genesis. In 1975, he released "Solsbury Hill" as his first solo single. He is a triple platinum artist in the UK and a five-time platinum artist in the US for his fifth studio album, So (1986).
Peter Gabriel Career:
• WOMAD was co-founded by him in 1982. Throughout his career, he has continued to promote world music with his Real World Records label.
• Peter Gabriel has performed at several human rights benefit concerts, including Amnesty International's Human Rights Now! In 1992, he co-founded the Witness human rights organization.
• Peter Gabriel formed Garden Wall with Tony Banks on piano and Chris Stewart on drums in 1965. Gabriel and Banks started at Charterhouse simultaneously; they weren't interested in school activities but became friends over music.
• Peter Gabriel created the soundtrack for Alan Parker's drama film Birdy (1984), which he co-produced with Daniel Lanois. His previous studio album was remixed, as well as new material without lyrics.
