Jane Freilicher was an American painter best known for her descriptive and expressive oil paintings, many of which include rich landscapes and still lifes. She started painting in the 1940s and 1950s and was a member of the abstract expressionist New York School. Over the course of her career, Freilicher won praise from critics for her ability to convey a sense of light and space in her paintings
