About Draupadi Murmu
Draupadi Murmu is a politician from India who served as governor of Jharkhand and an Odisha cabinet minister. Her childhood was spent primarily in the small village Baidaposi of Mayurbanj district in Orissa. Being from an ST family, she faced many hardships and completed her higher studies after working as a teacher at the Shri Aurobindo Integral Education Center in Rairangpur. Eventually, she joined the BJP party in 1997, beginning her political career. Taking Draupadi Murmu from the tribal community, the NDA began creating historical records. From a young age, it was obvious that Murmu had outstanding academic abilities.
1993: Draupadi left her government work after getting married to take care of her kids.
1994: During her time at Shri Aurobindo Integral Education Center, Draupadi started her teaching profession as an assistant professor.
1997: Draupadi Murmu began her political career by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
2002-2004: During the BJD-BJP coalition administration, Murmur headed Minister of Fisheries and Animal Development.
2013: Draupadi was chosen to serve as the BJP's ST Morcha's national vice president.
2015-2021: Murmu, 64, made history by becoming Jharkhand's first-ever female governor.
2022: Murmu's election as the NDA's presidential candidate was declared by the BJP.
Draupadi Murmu is the first odia woman leader to hold the position as governor of an Indian State.

As a tribal leader and an Odisha native, Murmu will become Odisha's first Indian president if she is elected.
