British politician Mary Elizabeth Truss, often known as Liz Truss, has taken over as the country's prime minister after Boris Johnson resigned. After Theresa May and Margaret Thatcher, Truss is the third woman to be elected as prime minister of the UK. She entered government in 2012 as one of the first MPs from her class to do so. Liz broke the mold when she began her profession as an economist.
