• Jhené Aiko was raised in a musical family. She had heard her elder sisters Jamila and Miyoko start their musical careers when she was a young girl. 
• Jhené Aiko joined B2K at the age of twelve and signed with Epic Music. Her song, 'Uh Huh,' won the 'BET Award for 'Viewer's Choice' for B2 K's debut video.
Jhené Aiko Released Her Debut Music Album In 2003
• Jhené Aiko tried to release 'My Name is Jhene' in 2003 through 'Sony,' 'The Ultimate Group,' and 'Epic Music.' However, Epic Music refused to release the album due to some differences. Her relationship with Epic ended there, and she began focusing on her education instead.
Jhené Aiko Comeback In 2011
• Her first mixtape, 'Sailing Soul(s),' featured Drake, Kayne West, and Miguel and was released in 2011 after she finished her studies.
• Jhené Aiko never looked back from that point on. Next year, American Hip-Hop and R&B producer Ernest Dion Wilson joined Def Jam and signed Jhené Aiko with ARTium Recordings.
