Mary J. Blige was born on January 11, 1971, and is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Blige spent a short time playing in a Yonkers band called Pride with drummer Eddie D'Aprile. Anita Baker's "Caught Up in the Rapture" was recorded impromptu at a recording booth in White Plains' Galleria Mall in early 1988.
