Ryan Adams was born on November 5, 1974. He is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, artist, and poet. His solo album catalog includes 24 studio albums and three as a member of Whiskeytown. He joined a local band called Blank Label at 14 after his mother and stepfather bought him an electric guitar. Their 1991 7-inch record included three tracks, but they quickly disbanded.

2009: Ryan Adams announced an extended break from music in 2009 after the release of Cardiology (2009), following the dissolution of The Cardinals. Ryan Adams announced his resignation from the Cardinals on January 14, 2009, after their March 20, 2009, show at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. 
2011: The El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles hosted Adams as the surprise opener for Emmylou Harris on April 21, 2011. Several of his new songs were performed, as well as a track from 2000's Heartbreaker, "Oh My Sweet Carolina.".
2015: The singer's 2015 album 1989 was inspired by the breakup he experienced with actress Mandy Moore, which inspired him to cover Taylor Swift's album of the same name. A new album was released in 2017 called Prisoner.
2022: Ryan Adams announced his first headlining show since the New York Times article on March 2, 2022. Carnegie Hall sold out within hours of its May 14 performance. Several more concerts were announced in March and June.
