Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert is the Swarovski Group's global creative director. Engelbert was born in Milan and completed her education there at the Brera Fine Arts Academy, where her mother also teaches sculpture and does artwork. She started walking the runway for Dolce and Gabbana when she was in her teenage years, but she quit the industry to seek a career in style. She was hired by Anna Dello Russo, who was then serving as the fashion editor of Vogue, after working as a stylist for the fashion publication Pig. Before directing Vogue Gioiello and Vogue Pelle jointly with renowned editor Franca Sozzani, Engelbert served for Italian Vogue.

Career:
In 2011: Engelbert relocated to New York to work at W, a fashion publication.
In 2016: She began working as the company's B2B creative director with Swarovski, a glass producer and jeweller.
In 2016: Her wedding to Oscar Engelbert, a property developer, took place in Capri.
In 2020: Engelbert received a promotion and was given the title of Global Creative Director of Swarovski Company, the first individual to hold that title in the 125-year history of the business.
In 2021: Her first collection, named Collection One, was released in her new, expanded role at the Austrian company
