As a young student, Shibasaki Gaku began playing Japanese ninja in his first year at elementary school in Noheji, Aomori, Japan, where he was born on 28 May 1992. In addition to his professional football career, he also serves as a member of the Japanese national team and plays for the Spanish club Leganés in the Spanish league. A number of matches were played for the Japan U-15 side by Shibasaki, who represented the country's U-15 side. As a high school student, he quickly developed his high-level judgment and precision, along with his balance plate and accurate kick for both offense and defense, during his time at high school.
Career:
2008: The Montaigu Tournament and the Viktor Bannikov Memorial Tournament called him up to the Japanese U-16 team.
2009: Shibasaki became a member of the Japan U-17 national team for the first time in January 2009. In Brazil U17 on 25 January 2009, he made a debut for the Japan U17 team and began the match before being substituted in the 55th minute.
2010: There was an announcement on 20 January 2010 that Shibasaki would be joining Kashima Antlers at the start of the 2011 season. When he decided to join Kashima Antlers, Shibasaki Gaku revealed that he had offers from Nagoya Grampus as well but opted to join the club instead.
2012: A match against Iceland took place on February 22, 2012, and Shibasaki was called up to the Japan team for the first time by the manager, Alberto Zaccheroni, ahead of the match.
It has been announced that Shibasaki, along with Daigo Nishi, will serve as the club's vice-captain heading into the 2012 season.
2014: When Shibasaki made his debut for Japan national team against Venezuela on 9 September 2014, he scored a goal in the game.
2019: AFC Asian Cup 2019 is scheduled to take place in March 2019 and Shibsaski was selected as one of 23 players from the Japanese national team.
On 22nd March, Shibasaki captained Japan for the first time in his career, in a 1–0 defeat to Colombia, just two months after taking over the captaincy.

There was no public announcement about his relationship with actress and singer Erina Mano until 25 November 2017, the day their relationship was made public. A wedding ceremony was held on 16 July 2018 between the couple.
