Gordon Daniel Hayward was born on 23rd March 1990. He plays basketball professionally for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Hayward previously played for the Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics. In 2017 he was selected to the NBA All-Star Game for the seventh time in his career with the Jazz. The free agent joined the Celtics but suffered a broken tibia and dislocated ankle five minutes into the season opener and was ruled out. Hayward played two more seasons with the Celtics before being traded to the Hornets in November 2020.

• Gordon Hayward confirmed to ESPN in 2010 that he would enter the NBA draft, but he had not yet hired an agent.
• In May 2010, Hayward announced that he would forgo his last two college seasons to enter the NBA draft.
• The Utah Jazz selected Hayward ninth overall in the 2010 NBA draft.

• Gordon Hayward emerged as the Jazz's new offensive threat after Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson left during the offseason. His point, rebound, assist, and steal averages are career highs.
• Gordon Hayward scored 37 points in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on January 7, 2014. Hayward became a restricted free agent after the 2013–14 season.
• Gordon Hayward signed a four-year, $63 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets on July 10, 2014. The Jazz re-signed Hayward on July 12, 2014.

• Gordon Hayward was signed by the Celtics to a four-year, $120 million deal, followed by a trade to the Charlotte Hornets for a conditional 2022 second-round pick and two 2023 and 2024 second-round picks.
