Lisandro Martínez was born on January 18, 1998. A Premier League defender for Manchester United and Argentina national teams, he most often plays as a centre-back. After joining Defensa y Justicia on loan in 2017, Martinez began his career at Newell's Old Boys. Over three seasons, he played 120 times for Ajax and won two Eredivisie titles and a KNVB Cup. As Ajax Player of the Year in 2021-22, he won the award.

2017: A loan spell with Argentine primera division side Defensa y Justicia followed in August 2017.
According to Defensa y Justicia, an agreement has been reached with Eredivisie team Ajax; subject to medical approval.
2022: Manchester United announced on 16 July 2022 that Martnez would be joined by the club for a reported fee between £47 million and £51 million, plus £8.5 million in add-ons.
2017: Martínez made four appearances for the Argentina under-20s at the 2017 South American Youth Football Championships.
He made his first senior team appearance in March. During their 22 March loss to Venezuela, he won his first cap.
Argentina's under-20 team, which played in Ecuador in 2017, won four caps from Martnez.
