Mikaela Pauline Shiffrin, born in 1995, was an American alpine skier and two-time Olympian. She is the most successful woman in World Cup skiing history. Her World Cup records include four overall victories, four world titles in slalom, and six World Cup discipline titles. In addition, she is the youngest Olympic slalom champion in alpine skiing history at 18 years and 345 days.

The Czech Republic was Siffrin's first World Cup venue, and she made her debut in the giant slalom on March 11, 2011.
