• Judy Blumefirst began writing when her children were attending preschool through courses she took at New York University. Blume published The One in the Middle Is the Green Kangaroo in 1969, two years after being rejected by publishers.
• Her second book, Iggie's House (1970), was originally a Trailblazer story that Blume rewrote into a book.
• Are You There God? was her third book. It's Me, Margaret. In 1970, Blume released Patchwork, a bestseller that was a trailblazing novel in young adult literature and established her as a leading voice.
• Judy Blume published the groundbreaking novel Forever in 1975, which depicted teen sex as normal for the first time in young adult literature.
