Anna Hazare was also instrumental in the development and structure of Ralegan Siddhi, a village in the Partner taluka of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, India. In 1992, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan—the third-highest civilian award—for his efforts in establishing this village as a model for others.
