    Shikhar Dhawan was born in New Delhi, India, on December 5, 1985. He is a former international cricketer of India and the Indian team’s limited-overs captain. Dhawan plays for Delhi in first-class cricket and the Delhi Capitals in the IPL as a left-handed opening batsman and an unusual right-arm off-break bowler.

    • Dhawan was India’s leading run-scorer at the 2013 Champions Trophy, 2017 Champions Trophy, and 2015 World Cup. He was also the first player in IPL history to achieve two centuries in a row.
    • For his efforts in the 2013 ICC Championships Trophy, Dhawan was named ‘Player of the Tournament,’ becoming the third Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh to earn this honor in the ICC tournament.
    • In October 2010, Dhawan made his One Day International Debut in Vishakhapatnam against Australia.
    • Against the same team in March 2013, he scored the fastest century by a player on debut, 187 runs from 174 balls, when he made his Test debut in Mohali.
    • Dhawan scored 248 runs off 150 balls for India A against South Africa A in Pretoria in August 2013, the second-highest individual score in a List A match.
    • He became the first Indian batsman and ninth internationally to reach a century in his 100th ODI game against South Africa in Johannesburg.
    • On June 14, 2018, Dhawan became the sixth and first Indian batsman to reach a century before lunch on a test match against Afghanistan.
    • Dhawan was engaged to Ayesha Mukherjee, an amateur kickboxer from Melbourne, in 2009, and the couple married in 2012. She gave birth to a baby named Zoravar in December 2014.
    • In June 2011, Dhawan made his Twenty20 International debut at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain against the West Indies.
    • As of March 2019, he has yet to score in the format. His highest score, also against the West Indies, came in November 2018 at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
