Benjamin S. Carson Sr., commonly referred to as Ben Carson, is an American neurosurgeon, author, and former politician. He was born on September 18, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan and is widely recognized for his groundbreaking work in the field of neurosurgery.

Ben Carson Education and Medical Career

Carson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Yale University and went on to earn his medical degree from the University Of Michigan Medical School. 

After completing his residency, he joined the faculty at John Hopkins Hospital, where he eventually became the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery. 

Carson was recognized as one of the top neurosurgeons in the world for his pioneering work in the field, including the successful separation of conjoined twins attached at the back of the head.
