About (Profile/Biography):

Sulianti Saroso was born in 1917 in Karangasem, Bali. As a child, her father inspired her interest in medicine. The HIV/AIDS and avian influenza epidemics were among the diseases she dedicated her life to battling. Sulianti Saroso Infectious Diseases Hospital in Jakarta received several awards for her contributions to public health.

In 1942, Dr. Sulianti Saroso graduated with a medical degree from Geneeskundige Hoge School

Advanced Degree in Public Health: In Europe and the United States

In Europe, Prof. Dr. Saroso studies maternal and child healthcare systems with a World Health Organization (WHO) scholarship.

Dr. Sulianti Saroso Career:

In 1952, Sulianti Saroso returned to her native Indonesia and helped teach birth control and family planning to the Indonesian population.

In 1967, Julie became Director General of the Ministry of Health's Prevention, Eradication and Eradication of Communicable Diseases (P4M) and Head of National Health Research (LRKN).

She became a project manager for the Ministry of Health to increase women, children, and villagers' access to healthcare after returning home.

In 1969, Prof. Dr. Saroso, who spent most of his career working in public health, began teaching at Airlangga University.

Female President of the World Health Assembly: Sulianti Saroso is the second woman to serve as president.
